Profile

Why they shine

Mario Kart World won Best Sports/Racing Game at The Game Awards 2025, the first title built from scratch for Nintendo's Switch 2 and the largest Mario Kart ever made. Twenty-four drivers race across a single connected world of coastline, desert, city and snow, with rail-grinding, wall-riding and a Free Roam mode that turns the Grand Prix map into an open playground. It sold more than five million copies in its first quarter, the fastest console-exclusive launch of the year, and its photo mode and Knockout Tour kept players in the world long after the credits.
