Why they shine
Battlefield 6 won Best Audio Design at The Game Awards 2025, the category that measures how a game sounds from the cockpit of a jet to the floor of a collapsing apartment block. Built by the four-studio Battlefield group across Stockholm, Guildford, Gothenburg and Bucharest, it returned the series to all-out warfare after a decade of experimental detours, and its sound team rebuilt everything from the ground up: real explosive recordings, dynamic occlusion for every wall, and gunfeels that players compared to studio-grade film mixes. It became the biggest launch in Battlefield history with over seven million copies sold in three days.
