Why they shine
Lorien Testard won Best Score and Music at The Game Awards 2025 for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, his first video game soundtrack and the first ever TGA music prize for a debut studio. A self-taught composer from Marseille who spent years writing for French animation and uploading orchestral pieces to SoundCloud, he was discovered by Sandfall Interactive through his online portfolio and wrote more than eight hours of music blending French touch, neoclassical strings and breakbeats. The soundtrack went on to chart in the top ten of the Billboard soundtrack albums list and became the most streamed game score of 2025.
